Embarar, así se llama el hacer las varas de la hierba. La hierba en mi Tierrina desde siempre ha sido tan preciada como las mismas viandas de sus nobles moradores, Asturias es Pueblo de grandes "Vaqueirus" y los vaqueirus de “miou embruxadora ya melgueira Tierrina queren a les sous vaquines lu mesmu qu'aéchus mesmus". Cuando se hace una vara de hierba, y que conste que hablo siempre como vaqueiru, uno se alegra porque comprende, que todos los pajares están repletos y sus ganados comerán cuanta hierba deseen. Con esto quiero decir, que mientras exista un sitio donde guardar la hierba que jamás se ''embara", porque la hierba es tan apreciada y querida como lo es la misma escanda. Embarar es embalagar la hierba pero de diferente manera, ya que aquí se va poniendo la hierba alrededor de un mástil de madera plantado en el suelo, se hace un altillo de troncos y ramas para preservar la vara de la humedad, y después se va poniendo la hierba alrededor del mástil, colocándola cuidadosamente y pisándola siempre en redondo y con el diámetro que se quiera hasta ir rematando la vara de hierba en forma de cono, y en su final se coloca un cucuriétchu de yerbe que s'enrrodiétcha, "un cucurucho de hierba trenzada" alrededor del mástil, que tiene la misión de preservar la vara de hierba de la humedad que pueda entrarle por arriba.
